Values of conditions Valeurs des conditions

A condition "if ... then ..." can have a lot of uses in discourse.

  • It can be used as a test: when I will have an answer, I can check it through this sieve. In physic, you can apply the condition for evalutating the expected size of a measure. In programming, you can check the return of a function for some values.
  • It can be used as a demonstration::it is a part of your reasoning, to develop your proof.

Theorization of discourses Théorisation des discours

In this respect two ways of using logic and incorporate it into discourse can be theorised. It deals with the value of the parts of discourses, as here a "condition" object.

Of course the question could be to know why there are two possible usage of such an object. But todays evolution of knowledge cannot allow us to set such a question as reasonable. This can not be a reasonable search. Why? Because our art of thinking is heading toward this idea that one must not explain things but modelised them first.

So, the question is: how can each way of using discoursed can modelise language to explain its own existence ? Then, as a second question, we could ask: are the model of each way of using discourses comparable (is there isomorphism)?
