- clove (garlic clove) = gousse (gousse d'ail)
- stalk (celery stalk) = branche célerie
- grated (grated cheese) = rapé (fromage rapé)
- to season = asaisonner
- egg -> white and yolk (separate yolks and whites) = oeuf -> blanc et jaune
- curdling (to avoid curdling in cake recipe) to curdle = cailler, faire des grumeaux, ne pas prendre (pour un mayonnaise)
- foil or cling film = papier d'alu(minium) et film transparent / étirable
- whisking = battre ?
- a whisk = un fouet / un batteur ?
- simmer (bring to simmering point) = mijoter
- turmeric = safran (des indes)
- clove = clou de girofle
- leek = un poireau
